Altar Serving

Serving at the altar is a special privilege and an important part of the life of the Church. Altar servers assist the priest during Mass and other liturgies, helping everything to be carried out with reverence, order and dignity. By serving at the altar, young people learn the meaning of the Mass more deeply and take an active part in the worship of the Church.

Anyone who has made their First Holy Communion is welcome to become an altar server. Serving is a good way to grow in confidence, make friends, and learn more about the Catholic faith. Altar servers belong to a team, and we try to make sure that serving is not only a responsibility, but also something enjoyable and rewarding.

Training and Community

Servers receive training before they begin, and new servers are always supported by more experienced ones. We also hope to organise occasional social events, trips and opportunities for servers to spend time together, so that they can grow not only in their role at Mass, but also in friendship and in faith.

Parents are encouraged to support their children in serving, as it helps them to feel at home in the Church and to take pride in their parish. If your child would like to become an altar server, or if you would like more information, please speak to the priest after Mass or contact the parish.

We Welcome New Servers

We are always very happy to welcome new servers, and we are grateful to all those who give their time to serve at the altar.
