Holy Communion

Holy Communion is the sacrament in which we receive the Body and Blood of Christ. In the Eucharist, Jesus gives himself to us as food for the journey of faith, drawing us more deeply into his life and uniting us with one another as the Church.

We come together for Holy Mass most days in the Divine Mercy Partnership, during which Holy Communion is administered. At Mass we gather as the family of God to hear his Word, to give thanks and to receive Christ who truly comes to us under the sacramental signs of bread and wine.

First Holy Communion

Holy Communion is usually received for the first time when a child is in Year 3 and is able to understand, in an age-appropriate way, what they are receiving.

We have a new parish priest and are currently creating a new First Holy Communion preparation programme. The most important thing is that you are attending Mass on Sundays.

Home Visits

Holy Communion is also taken to those who are sick or housebound and unable to come to Mass. Fr Sean visits the sick in their homes on request and visits all the sick each Advent and Lent. He is assisted by a team of lay ministers, called Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, who bring Holy Communion to the sick at least once a month.

If you or a loved one would like to receive Holy Communion at home, please contact Fr Sean, who will be happy to visit and arrange further regular visits from a lay minister. Further details of how to apply will be forthcoming.
